This free clinic was established by Dr. Sonya Anson in Central Bangalore (South India) in April 2009. “Serving in this free clinic has been a remarkable and life-affirming experience”, smiles Dr. Sonya.

Two local team members, Nilmala and Roopa, serve with Dr. Sonya to see around 200 patients a week. And it’s quite normal to have 10 – 15 new patients per session and so, needless to say, the clinic is at capacity.

Here’s how it works…
Church members bring along un-churched friends and family from their local community. Health complaints include all the usual suspects like headaches, back pain, sciatica etc. But Dr. Sonya sees a wide and varied range of health problems including; ADHD, MS, stroke victims, crippled children, bedwetting and more.
Each patient session provides an opportunity for Dr. Sonya and the team to share the love of God by meeting the physical needs of each patient. Then, each patient is placed on a pastoral care program which seeks to extend God’s love to address the spiritual needs of patients and their community.
The clinic is a practical outreach that’s growing the Kingdom of God.
More Than Chiropractic
In addition to chiropractic and pastoral care, Dr. Sonya and the team provide natural healthcare education around hygiene, diet and nutrition and exercise.
“We take our advanced healthcare system in the West for granted”, says Dr. Sonya. “In India, the healthcare system is decades behind. For example, women routinely give birth with a cesarean section and, when they stop child-bearing, they are routinely given a full hysterectomy. That’s why I have dozens of patients in their 30’s with advanced arthritis and osteoporosis.”
