Church Planting in India & SE Asia

BBCM exists to plant churches that plant churches!

Church Planting

A BBCM church plant community in South India.

“BBCM’s God-inspired vision of 100,000 church plants by 2050 can only be fulfilled if each church planter is equipped and encouraged to plant sister churches”, says Dr. Jakakumar. “This duplication strategy is at the core of BBCM’s missiology training and philosophy.”

Currently, BBCM leads over 150 church plants across India and neighboring Asian countries including; Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and Cambodia.

In addition, BBCM mentors and equips thousands of church planters through external programs delivered by their educational arm: the Academy for Church Planting & Leadership.

Through the LORD’s enabling, BBCM continues to expand it’s ministry reach each year.  This growth has been facilitated largely by two factors:

  1. A focus on each church plant being financial self-supporting.  On average, it takes 8 years for a rural church plant to be self-supporting (down from an average of 12 years).  Urban church plants become self-supporting much earlier… and they go on to be financial supporters of rural churches. For example, BBCM’s Bangalore church plant (Calvary’s Grace Bible Church) commits 50% of its tithe to missions… and the goal is 75%.
  2. Faithful brothers and sisters in the West who give generously of their time, expertise and financial resources to see the LORD’s vision realised through BBCM.  The opportunity to partner with churches and individuals in the West has been one BBCM’s greatest blessings.
